This page generates a scaled image of any selected Messier or NGC object from the Digitized Sky Survey (DSS). It's a simplified interface of the "SkyView"
(The Internet Virtual Telescope) which also calculates the field of view (FOV) and size of the image depending on the focal length of the instrument and the CCD used. It can be very useful to compare the field, magnitudes, rotation, etc. of the images taken.
NGC or Messier catalogs, several types of CCD chips and different telescope focal lengths can be chosen. The resulting image can then be saved in GIF or FITS format. A link to the SEDS object page is also generated. There, you will find additional information about the selected object (type, coordinates, size, etc.)
